"Looks Like Morning " - Sue Ann Rodgers
Landscapes, still lifes and the (rare!) portrait are favorite subjects for Sue Ann. Workshops and on-going classes taught by Gary Lennon, Julie Miller, Dale Martin, Becky Way, Lorenzo Chavez, Sara Oakley, Terry Ludwig, Clive Tyler, Marie Kash Weltzheimer, Dennis Parker and Jerry Brown (all exceptional artists) supply the foundation for her continuing adventures in art. “They’ve all taught me to see and that makes all the difference in the world!” Sue Ann is President of the Oklahoma Pastel Society, a member of Sooner Scribes Calligraphy Group and the Oklahoma Art Guild.

The same Jude Tolar who presented at the September meeting has had one of her wonderful florals accepted into the “Pastel 100” for Pastel Journal 2012. Congratulations to Jude as she continues to garner more awards for her exceptional work.
Summer Wine Gallery, one of the Paseo Creek galleries, is had their grand opening September 10 and 11th. Owned by Jim and Linda Hiller, the gallery features the art of 20 Oklahoma artists and includes OPS members Linda Hiller, Sheila Minnich, and Becky Way. There will be live demos at the gallery both days of the grand opening. Sheila and Becky are featured artists during November, and will be demoing at the Sunday afternoon "Sunday on the Paseo" reception. Check out Summer Wine Gallery website for more info.

You’ve probably heard of tag team wrestling or maybe your guilty secret is being a pro wrestling fan! November's program for OPS involved tag team painting and gave everyone an opportunity to participate in a paint around. It was great fun, and a great way to get better acquainted with other members and to learn by doing. It was so much fun we're going to do it again soon.
Southeastern Pastel Society 2012 15th International Juried Exhibition. Approximately $5,000 in cash and merchandise awards. May 17 – June 24, Oglethorpe University Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA. Juror: Fred Somers (will also conduct a workshop in conjunction with the exhibition). Soft pastels only. Members: $25; Non-members: $35.
