"Cold Stream" by Terry Ludwig
Terry Ludwig has exhibited in many juried exhibitions and national galleries, and his work hangs
in many personal collections. He’s best known for his own line of high-quality soft pastels, which are used and sold around the world. Terry teaches extensively in the United States on subject matters such as color theory, landscape, figurative, portraiture and still life. Terry’s approach to workshops is lively and fun-filled. He’s a master of the basics and advanced topics; and he easily shares his expertise with a sense of humor and solid foundational skills. Students enjoy learning his techniques in a laid-back and supportive
environment. “I like to capture a spirit in my art, whether it is a personality, a feeling inspired by nature or even a humorous experience. It’s true of the way I relate to people too. I am spirited and enjoy each person’s unique nature.” -- Terry

We had an unexpected, wonderful opportunity to spend a day with Lorenzo Chavez Monday, May 17, 2010. He taught a plein air landscape workshop in Oklahoma City for Oklahoma Pastel Society and it was a wonderful day, which ended in a delightful demo at the OPS meeting that evening. Lorenzo is a signature member of Pastel Society of America and teaches regularly around the country. He has been featured in Pastel Journal, Southwest Art, American Artist as well as being a judge for landscapes for the Pastel Journal's 100 Best of Pastel. Please check his website for samples of his work and more of his well deserved honors. To see photos from his demo, click here.

IAPS has two new features on their web site. First is a comprehensive listing of all member societies national juried exhibitions. When you’re looking for shows to enter in the next year, check their website for the listings and prospectus. Secondly, they are now featuring individual pages for Master Circle artists. By clicking on the individual artists name on the main master circle page, you can access their individual page. This feature is currently being updated so not all the artists have links set up. Ron Chapman, an OPS member, is one of the select master circle members.
