OPS CALENDAR 2011

Next meeting - November 114, 2011

We will be back at the Will Rogers Garden Center (3400 N.W. 36th Street, Oklahoma City). You’ve probably heard of tag team wrestling or maybe your guilty secret is being a pro wrestling fan! This month’s program for OPS involves tag team painting and gives everyone an opportunity to participate in a paint around. We’ll have reference material for each group and everyone will get an opportunity to put their touches on a painting and share in the fun. There will be easels and paper set up for use. Feel free to bring a small set of pastels for use during your portion of the paint around. This is a great way to get better acquainted with other members and to learn by doing.

Last month’s meeting at Porches stimulated a lot of our senses-we had great food thanks to those who brought the refreshments, a very informative demo using pan pastels and the unprecedented opportunity to stock up on supplies in our very own private shopping experience. A huge thanks to Porches who so graciously arranged to have the demo and also stayed open to allow us to shop.

SHOWS:

IAPS has two new features on their website. The prospectus for the 2011 IAPS web show is now available on the IAPS web site. Entry date is October 15, and the exhibition is on the web so no work needs to be shipped. To download the prospectus, visit the IAPS web site Exhibitions page. We've also posted a collection of videos and photos from the 2011 convention on the web site. Check out the highlights video and links to other photo and video pages here.

Members of member societies can download a prospectus for either event on the IAPS website, under the Exhibitions tab on the site. Finally, those who have not yet registered for the 2011 Convention are encouraged to do so; full information and online registration is available on the website Also look for more information on their new blog.
