Capturing Saturated Colors in a Sunset
Will Rogers Garden Center
3400 NW 36th St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Pastel / 25 x 37 / 2022 / Sold
In this two-day pastel workshop, Tobi will share her unique process for building a dynamic color story utilizing the four elements of contrast. Students will learn to identify, select, and build a powerful color story that incorporates the appropriate value, temperature, saturation, and hues. On the first day students will do short exercises that demonstrate how to work with saturated color and learn how to prepare an effective color story to use for the second day of painting.
Tobi developed this unique process and uses it for every studio painting. She has found that taking the time to develop a color story before painting, the process provides an ongoing education that continues to inform your color decisions. Over time, selecting colors becomes easier and more intuitive, and frustrating color mistakes occur less often, allowing for a more harmonious and relaxed painting experience.
Tobi Clement is an internationally recognized and award-winning professional pastel artist, known for her expressive skies. She lives in Santa Fe, NM.
