Benefits

What's the best way to find out what the Oklahoma Pastel Society member believe are the benefits of becoming a member of this organization?  Ask them!   Here are just a few..

Camaraderie:  The uncomplicated fun of sharing with like-minded people.  It's wonderful to be able to say "pastels" and not have to explain that you are not talking about a pale tint of color.  We share experiences of a variety of things;  workshops, supports to paint on,  brands of of pastels,  places to paint, books,  supply stores, websites and more.

Workshops and Programs:  We host workshops taught by wonderful arts (who just happen to be very giving and gifted instructors too)- such as Larenzo Chavez,  Terry Ludwig, Mitsuno Reedy,  Dale Martin, Becky Way,  Marie Kash Weltzheimer;  just to name a few.  Programs have been presented by many of these same instructors including Clive Tyler, Gary Lennon, Colleen Brown, Sheila Minnich, Dennis Parker, and so many more

Exposure for your Art:   We have shows each year where members can show and sell their art.  Many of our shows are judged for prizes.  In addition,  member are allowed a section on the societies website for an introduction to their work and links to their personal websites.

Website:  Our website has much to offer our member and has easy links to groups,  a current blog, educational information and much more.  We hope it will become a great resource for our artists to share and learn.

Oklahoma:   Oklahoma has a vibrant and ever growing community of artists whether you are a beginner or a nationally recognized pastelist.   We are proud of our member's accomplishments and share through our newsletter,  website, and social media, their accomplishments.  We are a chapter of the IAPS ( International Society of Pastel Artists) and as such, members can get discounts to their meetings and activities.
